ABOUT BLACK

Carbon Black is a fascinating material which has not only engaged the attention of those who are concerned with the technology and applications of the material but also has inspired a large number of investigations in scientific laboratories of universities and research institutes around the world. The technology is age old and the product can be ranked as one of the oldest manufactured products.

Carbon Black refers to a group of industrial products manufactured by majorly four different manufacturing processes, namely: Thermal, Furnace, Channel and Acetylene. Each of the processes vary in terms of the controlled chemical process via which the hydrocarbons in the feedstocks are broken down to generate carbon black.

Ralson Carbon manufactures furnace blacks via a thermal-oxidative decomposition process. The reaction takes place at high temperatures in a refractory lined reactor or furnace, hence the term "Furnace Black Process"
